Release Notes for V2.36.0

+ Added feature
x Improved/changed feature
– Bug fixed
! Limitation

*The public beta feature can now be utilized by all customers with access to all production data center prior to official production release.

Ricoh Cloud Terminal (Gen2 Emb) v3.0.12 will be implemented soon without server version update.

Print Scan UI

+ Primary domain is now explicit for multi-domain accounts

Accounts with multiple domains now have an explicit primary domain rather than one inferred from list order. Changing it prompts a confirmation, and the change is recorded in the audit log.

– Scheduled dashboard reports no longer arrive with a blank screenshot

Large scheduled user and printer email reports could include a completely blank screenshot due to a rendering race. The capture now completes reliably regardless of dashboard size.

– Document color-page detection corrected

Documents processed without native color detection support were being marked entirely as color pages, which could affect reported page counts. Detection is now accurate.

Secondary Gateway

– Large print jobs routed via a secondary server no longer time out

Larger jobs sent through a secondary server, or over port 443 with IPP authentication enabled, could fail partway through. The outbound request timeout has been corrected.

PC Client

– Fixed a crash after manual printer synchronization

The Windows client could crash immediately after a manual synchronization completed. The underlying issue has been resolved.

– macOS driver now supports borderless printing

Full-bleed content previously printed with an unwanted margin on all sides. Borderless paper sizes are now available.

Authentication

– Fixed card login failure after card conversion on embedded terminals using a gateway

A card conversion could break subsequent card logins on embedded terminals connected via a gateway. Login now works reliably after conversion.

Ricoh Cloud Terminal (Gen2 Emb)

x Unified authentication timeout

The terminal’s authentication timeout (previously 20 seconds) was shorter than the CloudStream applications service timeout (30 seconds).

The values have been unified to prevent premature login timeouts during authentication.

x Reliable migration from legacy ports

Devices that had ever run version 3.0.3 could remain stuck on legacy communication ports and would never migrate to the secure port (443), meaning they would stop working once the legacy ports are closed on the server.

The port transition logic has been improved so these devices correctly migrate.

– Application crash from file descriptor leak (EMFILE / WIN DEATH)

The terminal accumulated open file descriptors during repeated login/logout cycles and when releasing large numbers of pull-print jobs, eventually reaching the operating system limit and crashing with a native SIGSEGV / WIN DEATH.

HTTP clients, response bodies and handler threads are now properly released, keeping the file descriptor count stable across sessions and preventing the crash.

– Printer memory exhaustion for jobs without PJL headers

Jobs spooled from the mobile app or Chrome extension do not contain PJL headers, and the terminal was searching the entire file for them, causing long delays or leaving the printer out of memory and stuck.

The header search limit has been restored so only the beginning of the file is inspected before default headers are applied.

– Rotated scans for JPG and OCR workflows

Scan jobs were rotated when the JPG file type was selected or OCR was enabled (OCR forces JPG output). The terminal now correctly honours the device’s rotation flag so scans keep their intended orientation.

Multi-page TIFF scans are also handled correctly for Auto, Grayscale and Full color modes.

– Thick paper settings ignored via Cloud terminal

When printing through the Cloud terminal, thick paper settings were ignored and jobs were processed as plain paper, resulting in lower print quality.

The media type is now included in the PJL headers sent to the device so thick paper settings are correctly applied.

– Improved precise accounting accuracy

Several issues with precise (push-print) accounting were resolved:

  • Print jobs were reported under the default “Print Job” title instead of the actual document name.
  • Scan jobs caused an anomaly in the new reporting; scan jobs now use a correct unique identifier.
  • When several jobs were printed at once, accounting created more jobs than were actually printed and split the page counts between them.
  • Push-print jobs were sometimes accounted under the wrong filename.

Accounting now reports the correct number of jobs, page counts and document names.

– Corrected paper type for envelope printing

Selecting an envelope size when printing via Secure queue could result in plain paper being used instead of the configured envelope tray. The correct tray is now selected.
